ECO VILLAGE WANDSWORTH |

15.10.96.
To the Manager of Guinness. My name is Zoe Snell, and I'm a 13 year old who lives in London. I'm just writing to say that I think what you had done to the Eco. Village in Wandsworth was totally unacceptable. I've been to the village quite a few times, and it was really nice to get away from all the normalities of life, like ovens and microwaves, and really tidy and neat houses etc. All the people who lived there had made a real go of things, and you took that away from them. I mean, you hadn't used that piece of land for 7 years, and when someone comes along and does something useful with it, well, that's what you can't hack isn't it? Just because someone doesn't use it as a factory, to make stuff that's just another load of crap that no human being would ever need, you say, Oh, that's our land, you can't use it, I mean we've never used it before, but you can't anyway! What's the point of it huh? I mean, I think some people could understand if you'd actually used the land, but since you didn't, you had absolutely NO right to chuck them out. Well, I'll leave you to think about what I've just written, and remember that it all came from a 13 year olds head.
Sincerely Zoe Snell.
Guinness did write back, I'll paste up their letter when I track it down.. |
